Three Things That Work (February 2021)

I actually met Sarah’s husband before my own, and he is the one who introduced us, so we owe them! The first time I met Sarah, I realized I’d forgotten to get someone to take care of my cat while I was out-of-town, but she gave me a chance anyway. I love to explore DC with her whenever I’m in the city, but following her Instagram (@sarah.wetzel202) from afar is the next best thing.

Name: Sarah Wetzel

Home/Family: I’m happily married to my high-school-sweetheart who is a pilot in Air Force, and the proud mom of a 14-year-old boy. After moving all over the country with the military we finally put roots down in Washington, DC. We recently remodeled a 92-year-old row house and love the hustle and bustle of city life!

Work: NICU Registered Nurse

Favorite Part of Job: The most rewarding part of being a NICU Nurse is supporting a family from the time they arrive, overwhelmed and frightened, to the joyous day they’re able to take their new baby home. It is a day of celebration for both the parents and the healthcare team. I also love celebrating all the NICU milestones with parents: like when their baby comes off respiratory support, gets to be held for the first time, takes their first bottle, etc. Our patients are so resilient and are truly little heroes.

Ideal Saturday night: Eating my way through DC! The city is extremely international so there’s always something new to try. Sunset at the Lincoln Memorial is pretty special too!

I know, I know- not another device to charge but this is definitely my new favorite toy. The charge lasts forever and it’s totally a must if you’re a candle lover.

toner pads.jpg

I’m loving these reusable toner pads I recently purchased. I hate adding unnecessary waste to our landfills and I’m trying to replace as many of the single use items in our home as possible. These are two sided with a smooth option and a more exfoliating texture and can be used to cleanse or apply your toner. And when you’re done with one you toss it in the included mesh bag and wash them with your whites.

I know we all have our favorite cleaning product but this stuff is unreal! It’s removed ink from my hardwood floors, permanent marker from my white quartz countertops, and all of the scruffs from our walls. It’s like the magic eraser but even better! Plus it’s nontoxic.
